A Simple, Analytically Solvable, Chamberlinian Agglomeration Model

چکیده

This paper presents a simple Chamberlinian agglomeration model which, like the canonical core-periphery (CP) model, contains two agglomerative forces. However, in contrast to that model, the present model is analytically solvable. Moreover, the present model exhibits a 'supercritical pitchfork bifurcation' rather than the 'subcritical pitchfork bifurcation' of the CP model. This may be a better description for some agglomerative processes than the 'catastrophic' emergence of complete agglomeration predicted by the CP model. * PD Dr. Michael Pflüger, DIW Berlin, Königin-Luise-Straße 5, 14195 Berlin. مقدمه‌ای بر مدل هابارد و قطری‌سازی دقیق

Hubbard model is an important model in the theory of strongly correlated electron systems. In this contribution we introduce this model and the concepts of electron correlation by building on a tight binding model. After enumerating various methods of tackling the Hubbard model, we introduce the numerical method of exact diagonalization in detail. The book keeping and practical implementation ...

Analytically solvable model of probabilistic network dynamics.

We present a simple model of network dynamics that can be solved analytically for fully connected networks. We obtain the dynamics of response of the system to perturbations. The analytical solution is an excellent approximation for random networks. A comparison with the scale-free network, though qualitatively similar, shows the effect of distinct topology.

A simple ansatz to describe thermodynamic quantities of peptides and proteins at low temperatures

We describe a simple ansatz to approximate the low temperature behavior of proteins and peptides by a mean-field-like model which is analytically solvable. For a small peptide some thermodynamic quantities are calculated and compared with numerical results of an all-atoms simulation. Our approach can be used to determine the weights for a multicanonical simulation of the molecule under consider...

Analytically solvable processes on networks

We introduce a broad class of analytically solvable processes on networks. In the special case, they reduce to random walk and consensus process, the two most basic processes on networks. Our class differs from previous models of interactions (such as the stochastic Ising model, cellular automata, infinite particle systems, and the voter model) in several ways, the two most important being (i) ...

Solvable Nonlinear Volatility Diffusion Models with Affine Drift

We present a method for constructing new families of solvable one-dimensional diffusions with linear drift and nonlinear diffusion coefficient functions, whose transition densities are obtainable in analytically closed-form. Our approach is based on the so-called diffusion canonical transformation method that allows us to uncover new multiparameter diffusions that are mapped onto various simple...
